Meanwhile Shockwave is being developed as a major feature film by the UK’s leading film production company, Working Title Films. The screenplay is near completion and the movie will be directed by Cary Fukunaga who directed the latest James Bond movie No Time to Die.
In other news Stephen's next book, Beyond: The Astonishing Story of the First Human to Leave Our Planet and Journey into Space will be published by Harper Collins in April 2021. The book marks the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s world-changing flight into space in 1961 and tells the gripping tale of one of the greatest – and riskiest – adventures of the twentieth century.
Screenwriter Tom Edge (who scripted the Judy Garland biopic Judy and co-scripted the hit Netflix series The Crown) is currently writing the final draft of a dramatized feature film based on A Boy Called Alex, our triple BAFTA-nominated 2008 documentary about the brilliant teenage musical prodigy, Alex Stobbs, who suffers from the incurable disease cystic fibrosis. The new feature film will be co-produced with Walker George Films and DNA Films for Film 4.
